Google Docs Now Has Templates
Posted on July 25, 2008
Last year, I wrote a post about Google Docs. Sometimes you don’t always want to download your documents to another computer especially public ones, nor go through the process of having to download period.
One of the really cool things about Google Docs or using any online web office is the ability to collaborate with others. You might find collaboration beneficial if you are working with a group on a document(s) that requires input and revisions from several members. It can be really annoying to keep up with everyone’s changes not to include the various documents.
With online collaboration all members of the group can make changes or comments to the same document. As the author, you can download and/or print off everyone’s comments at the same time from one document.
Now Google Docs has gone a step further with collaboration. Last week the Google developers revealed the new Google Docs Template area.
Pretty similar to the templates used with Microsoft products, "A template gives you a quick start towards creating a document, spreadsheet, or presentation. Each template has boilerplate content and preset design styles that are meant to be reused. You can then edit the document, replacing boilerplate text and images with your own," explains Google.
So, if you are in hurry and you are nowhere near MS Word or Excel, you don’t have to start a document from scratch. Pretty convenient and FREE!
